The site of the current Lodge & Club had humble beginnings as a 32-room hotel in 1940 called The innlet. A New York banker and frequent guest of the nearby Ponte Vedra Inn & Club, Tommy Sabin, purchased this prime oceanfront real estate located just 1.5 miles south of the Inn & Club. A few years later The Innlet was sold to Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and became a more informal extension of the main resort. By 1947, the hotel had expanded and through the ensuing decades, the hotel changed ownerships several times. In fact, from 1974 to 1987, it was vacant. However, in 1989 the Ponte Vedra Corporation purchased the property and renamed it The Lodge & Club. The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club resumed operations of the site and once again, guests of The Lodge & Club enjoyed access to the amenities of the larger resort. The Lodge & Club was awarded the AAA Four Diamond and Mobil Travel Guide Four Star Awards in 2000. During the next decade, The Lodge & Club underwent many renovations and property enhancement. Today, it continues to charm a new generation of travelers with a commitment to providing an extraordinary level of personal service.

The Lodge & Club has received the Palm Award from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. The award recognizes the resort’s implementation of a variety of eco-friendly practices that reduce waste and conserve natural resources. We take pride in our commitment to protecting the delicate coastal environment in which we are located.

We are located 35 minutes from Jacksonville International Airport (JAX), which offers nonstop flights to most major cities. The airport provides 100 daily arrivals and departures via eight major and regional airlines. Vans and limos transport guests to the resort hourly.
